Halloween layout & possible scrapbook layout ideas

I was chatting with Stacey the other day and we were kicking around ideas for layouts that were not your normal type ideas. We all have photos of events, kids, grandparents, friends, pets, vacations, outdoor photos etc. and we scrap those. How about those things we talk about and laugh over, and even obsess over??? Let me give you an example:

My husbands BIG round head is soo fun to touch with the littlest amount of soft silken kitty type hair on it. I guess I mention this alot- his head really is perfect-LOL So it was suggested I take photos of it, and maybe some I already have of his head or even the XL labels in his hats, and why we can't just buy any style at any old time.

Another thought was taking photos around my office things that I had collected over the years and some stories about them and those objects that had been collected but are no more- like my flamingo fascination.

I also plan on doing a layout of my sons room. A couple years ago I had asked him to once again clean his room. He said "It's not dirty"- HMMMM I say. I went up and the horror I tell you!! I grabbed my camera and took pictures, including the overflowing waste basket with a banana peel on top-ACK!! The title may be Mom..Its clean

So can you think of other things to scrap about that you may need to go get photos of???

Oh and that just reminded me....... I have a nice digital camera, but have just done the point and shoot using the standard modes. Well, we have some DT gals over at the Serendipity Scrapbooks forum and they wanted a Photo forum. So I set it up, and it is going to be soo cool. Each month they will work on themes, there will be challenges, so we can practice, there are great tips and a glossary too.

SKETCH-A-PA-LOOZA Pre-crop challenges went up yesterday prepping everyone for our Sketch-a-pa-looza crop next weekend. Come and check it out.

I am going to work on the new Friday challenge they did yesterday this weekend. Come on over and see for yourself.

Now onto the digi part of my life. I did a layout for halloween using Jennifer Barrettes Going Batty kit. This is cute and has great non traditional colors.

I also decided to finally do a paper layout that is for me!! not the store, technique, class or display at a booth. It came out great, so I decided to submit to Memory Makers Skylimit call. I also did a beautiful digi layout too and submitted it as well. I hope they accept them, but my goal was to attempt some submissions and to do more paper and digi work for me. So when I get the email I will post, and if I don't get picked then I will post these at that point.

Have a scrapping good day!!

More Yummy digi layouts today!!

I have been catching up and taking care of the store and our customers, and trying to get more organized so I can do some paper work pretty soon. In the mean time I have been grabbing new digi goodies and doing some new layouts.

I tried a new design on this layout using primarily Jennifer Barrette's new kit called Harvest Moon.

I also LOVE the her other new kit called My night Garden, this is my take on it.

I also have picked up yet a few more tastey digi kits, and I will share those too. But, this layout was soo fun. I used Croppycatter's little baby boy for this layout using a Holliwood Studios and Kate Hadfield collab called Sock Monkey Madness:

I also got the following:

Very exciting, plus I purchased the Digital Artist Magazine for August and it is great!! I got alot of great ideas, links to great actions, tips on photo adjustments and a couple downloads including a full kit. DAM is available and different digi shops, or you can go to Digitalartistmagazine.com

I also finally washed my fabric and purchased interfacings to do the Cute Amy Butler purse patterns too. Who knows when those will get started.

I am looking forward to the Ali Edwards chat at Serendipity Scrapbooks on Tuesday night the 19th. I hope you enjoyed looking at these and come on over Tuesday to the forum and click on the chat room and join in our chat. Have good one.

Here's hoping to be knee deep in paper by Tuesday...

I have been furiously ordering for the store. I have the American Crafts order right here- Exciting. Did you know that their cardstock is lightly textured?? They also have some specialty, but there is only 2 of one type I am going to try out the Pearl/dot.

I still need to order the Luxe, sassafras lass, websters pages, October afternoon and a few others. BUT..... I am excited because the Dream street papers are ALL here, the Cosmo Cricket and Glitz should be here by Tuesday, and there is still more coming.

So while I ordered, I did some more digital layouts with Jennifer Barrettes new kits. There is one or Two I haven't even cracked open yet. I borrowed some photos from my DT for these layouts. Here they are:

These are from Jennifer Barrettes Beach Shack Baby, Out and a Bout, Boardwalk & Apple of my eye kits. They are all available at Elemental Scraps. You can see all the details in the digital category of the gallery here.

I also picked up some tasty kits this weekend. Flergs new Chasing Ryan kit from Scrapbookgraphics:

This cute kit from Weeds and Wildflowers Designs by Gina marie Huff, delightful morning, delightful afternoon and the papers.

Also I LOVE ShabbyPickleDesigns, and I picked up Hey Chickie byNikki Beaudreau

Anyway, I have lots of kit planning for Serendipity Scrapbooks to do, so it may take me a while to update. I have some Super Cute albums coming out inAug. & Sept. an exclusives; still for the kits By Twisted Cherry Designs. Have a great weekend!!

Good Grief Time flies.....

When your up to your eyeballs. I thought I just posted this last week- guess not.

I plan to post early next week some new chipboard designs I have been working on, 2 of the July kits will have Twisted Cherry Designs in the kit and are totally exclusive to Serendipity Scrapbooks.

I am also working on a special altered album for the class proposal for the CKC Seattle in Nov. I haven't taken photos of the process, but will post later this month when I am done. This is just an overview, since the papers and embellishments will more than likely change by Nov.

I am very Excited that Tim Holtz is going to be our Chat guest June 17th, and I am prepping to post the contest for June- Ranger/Tim Holtz manufacturer contest. I meet him about a year and a half ago, he is very gracious and bubbly. He is so smooth with his techniques and gives fabulous ideas. This is him at Memory Trends fall 2007.

I have also contacted Black market society papers and currently mulling over a purchase very soon. They do not have a site up yet, but they are working on it.

School is out here for the kids on the 18th, so we are still trudging along- I can't wait till it's over.

The weather has taken a turn- back to our lovely down pour and cool weather. However, I did take a few more photos of some of the iris' that bloomed, a poppy and a flowering plant I forget the name of.

I hope your week goes well. I hope to post sooner than later as I have been. Have a good one.

Blog cuteness!!

The last couple of days my daughter was asking for a website, you know she sees icarly, and other sites with kids from Nickelodeon etc on the web. I explained that costs money, but how about a blog. BUT, the big but she had to have me set it up and I have to be there to help her post and her profile just says her name.

So last night, she sat with me at the computer and we started her blog and she worked with me while I created her blog header and got it up and running. She is so excited she woke up early to see how many people have come to it.-LOL I haven't put any RSS feeds on it, but I did tell two boards how cute it is. Two friends of mine have already posted comments to here and she is dancing around all thrilled. She just took my camera and took a photo of the old fashioned dress she designed to put up today. To see her blog- My Lollipop World, leaving her a comment would be soo nice, I don't think her friends can. Thanks for looking.

I know how she feels it is exciting to come and see comments and how many have visited. I know I have been so busy days go by and I think its only been 3 days-NOT.

I am currently in the middle of the ironing board cover project, and hope to finish and post for you. So easy and nice to make a simple change.

I am getting real excited for the Online crop later this month at Serendipity Scrapbooks. The DT came up with a cute name and some great challenges and games are being created. The name is based on women and the many hats we wear. These talked about some women having tea for mothers day, and may day and cinco de mayo and everything for May and we came up with :
The Mad hatter's tea party crop!! No the name isn't original to us, but using for a crop and how we will use it for the challenges and games will be soo much fun.

If you have never done an online crop or haven't been to ours you need to stop by. The pre crop challenges start on the 18th, and the crop starts on the 25th. This will be in the forum, so you will need to register.

Tomorrow there is no school, therefore making it the beginning of spring break. What are you all up to??
