New digital layout today with a great new digital kit by Theresa Hernandez, called Garden of Awesome!!  Available at FTLOA (for the luv of art)  This is an old photo of my kids, Kendall was 4.5 and Zack was 9.5

  A year or so ago I saw a great layout in a magazine, sorry I can't find it to tell you who did it, but it was very cool.  So I saved it and did a digi layout version last year, I will post it here first. Then this week I decided to do a paper layout version of it as well with the Brook line from Crate paper.

Digital layout and 4 x 6 photo layout

About a year or so ago I bought some cute 4 x 6 photo wallets for myself, mom and MIL. Rather than plop in the actual photo I thought it would be cute to do mini layouts with the images.  Today I did another one, they are fairly simple and print well. The grid, crowns, frame, and bird are all from the Glitz design CD with the Glam and Basics collection on it.

I also decided to try being creative with a digital layout, I am working up to paper layouts again. So here is the digital layout I did today. Thanks for looking

DCWV Green layout

I really like the Green papers from the DCWV paper pack. I had also gotten some of them individually and loaded them in the store. These are great for hikes, outdoors, nature, pets etc.

This one I tried something different and challenging to me. I am not a great user of cardstock. However, I wanted a slight embossed textured background and thought I would try Core'dinations Paprika and my new swiss dot cuttlebug embossing plate. Not only was the cardstock background a challenge the open space in and around the layout I am NOT used too.




As some of you may know Cuttlebug embossing plates are small. I wanted the whole 12 x 12 embossed, so I laid it under and rubbed over with a metal ruler. I am thinking a sanding block would also work well. I just moved it around until the entire background was embossed. I then did cut work and used two sheets of the Green Collection The Bears. I did stitch with the machine in 3 of the clouds. I kept the pressure foot up, stitch length 2.8 and went slowly, pivoting alot. I use alot of dimensional foam adhesive and like to pop things up, I even double layer the foam tape for height. Below is the supplies I used.

Curious Duo Layout

I actually finished a layout!! Very exciting I haven't done one in months.

This is my DS-17 and my Niece-8, Christmas Eve. She tackled him, jumped him, he played keep away with his phone and wallet ALL night long. Laughing and giggling, he smiled more that night than a good months worth. He also requested the camera to retrieve this photo and put it on his Facebook.

Journaling is on a chipboard piece tucked behind the tree on the Pull Me tab.

Digital Layout using another new Jennifer Barrette kit

2nd paper layout in the last week!!

This took me a good week to do. I don't have a dedicated scraproom, and everything I own is put away. So I have to go through and fish for things. I generally don't use solid cardstock as a background, but I think this worked.

I used Daisy Bucket Playlist, Cherry arte Poolside chipboard, various buttons, Scenic route chipboard alphas, Making memories glitters alphas and tiny alphas, and even EK success alphas. I used some Gin X chipboard stars too and did a pigment powder dusting over a couple of them using perfect pearls medium and the powder.

The background texture was made from a loosley woven net type paper. I first tried using the perfect medium on it and press it onto the paper and dusted with the powder- unfortunately the powder didn't stand out as much as I liked. So I decided to paint onto the netting and press it onto the background paper over the perfect pearls and it stands out much better.

Here is a digi I did as well. I love this shot of my DS- as he got older he was less animated and this is just fun. I used Jennifer Barrettes digital kit Lady Bugga available at Gotta Pixel and mixed some other fun digital items in.

Sugarplum Christmas Digital kit done

I am glad to tell you the Sugarplum Christams Digital kit is done. I did have it loaded into the Serendipity Scrapbooks store, but adjustments need to be made since the kit is sooo large. It should be up early this next week though. Here is the image for the Sugarplum Christmas digi Kit
